If you aren’t a Rehoboth Beach resident who gets to read Fay’s ongoing columns, or if you haven’t read her first collection of comic essays, AS I LAY FRYING, then it’s time to correct this error. Her most recent book, FRIED & TRUE, is very funny and very touching in unexpected ways. She has the sarcastic wit of the best political commentators, and little that has occurred in the past few years escapes her piercing pen. But her stories of a legendary lesbian couple, the doyennes of Rehoboth society, who she came to know and love, are beautifully moving, and you wil be glad you got to know them through Fay’s eyes. If you’ve had the pleasure of meeting Fay and hearing her read her own work, you’ll also be eager for the day when her works appear on CD; she’s that funny. Meanwhile, go online and get your copy of this book. Perfect summer (or anytime) reading.

Apparently I’ve started to make honking noises when I laugh. At least that what my husband says, although I think they probably sound more like snorts. Something to do with my sinuses, I guess. Whatever the case, I was certainly noisy when I read “Fried and True.”
It wasn’t all a laugh riot, though. There were some touching moments, I “met” some amazing people, and I know where I wanna spend my Summer vacation. Don’t miss this read!
